Through 20 years of operation, PISICO has had four times of renaming, adjusting, adding, changing its functions, tasks and operation area, detailed as follows:
20 years ago, executing the provincial policy, People’s Committee of Nghia Binh province promulgated Decision no. 1619/QĐ-UB dated 28 May 1985 on establishment of Nghia Binh export forest product processing exploiting cooperation company (Ratanakiri), as the precursor of General Production Investment Service Import Export Company today.
Early 1990, merged with Binh Dinh Export Forestry Speciality Company and renamed Binh Dinh Forestry Speciality Exporting Company.
Till 1992, the company made the enterprise re-registration and renamed Binh Dinh Export Forestry Speciality Company. Mid 1996, renamed General Production Investment Service Import Export Company, and officially operating under this new name up till now.
PISICO has offically operated under the holding company – subsidiary model since 19 June 2006 under Decision no.61/UBND of People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province.
